Assessment Data Conference, Kuala Lumpur

This event offers two days of inspiration and practical guidance that will demonstrate how data from CAT4, the Progress Tests and the PASS Survey can help schools understand and support every single child and help you to develop your own data analysis strategy.

Day 1

You will be inspired by Matthew Savage as he introduces #themonalisaeffect, his globally-renowned model for personalising learning through data. He will explore the "why" of data and how to best use a triangle of student-level data to help every single student thrive and belong.

Day 2

GL Education’s Assessment Insights team turn the spotlight onto CAT4 as they guide you through your own CAT4 data, discuss some of the student profiles that you will find in your own school and help you to leave the session with a clear plan to inform in-school actions.

You can choose to attend both days or share the ticket with a colleague so that you each attend the day that’s most relevant to you.

Day 1: #Themonalisaeffect

Matthew Savage will introduce #themonalisaeffect, his globally-renowned model for personalising learning through data, and show how data from CAT4, the Progress Tests and the PASS Survey can help us understand and support every single child.

  1. Keynote - An introduction to #themonalisaeffect - the WHY of data
  2. Session 1 - Identifying aptitude, abilities and needs through CAT4; applying this knowledge in your school
  3. Session 2 - Measuring progress, attainment and achievement through the Progress Tests; applying this knowledge in your school
  4. Session 3 - Measuring and monitoring attitudes and wellbeing through the PASS Survey; applying this knowledge in your school
  5. Plenary - Understanding, telling and changing a student's data story (+ optional interactive quiz)

By the end of the day, delegates will have:

  • Understood the "why" of data and how #themonalisaeffect could optimise data and assessment within their school
  • Learned what the data from CAT4, the Progress Tests and PASS means and how to use it effectively
  • Discovered how to tell a student's 'data story', by triangulating the data from these three tools

Day 2: CAT4 Data Masterclass

In this practical masterclass we will guide you through your own CAT4 data.

From running your reports to guidance on analysis and interpretation of your results, you will leave the session with a clear plan for next steps, ensuring you can make the best use of your CAT4 data to inform in-school actions.

Then, in the afternoon, you will have one-to-one time with one of our data specialists to help you to identify key groups of students to focus on, areas of the curriculum to reinforce or other useful suggestions for next steps based on your data and your priorities.

The masterclass and data consultation combined will provide you with further knowledge and understanding to get the most out of your data to benefit teaching and learning, and drive this in your school.

This session is most suitable for senior and middle leaders, heads of year and assessment co-ordinators who would like an additional layer of insight and support in identifying next steps. Delegates should have a basic understanding of CAT4. This session is not designed for complete beginners.

It is recommended that the Stage 1 and Stage 2 online training sessions have been watched before attending this course if you have only recently started using CAT4.
