Maximising the use of data to inform teaching and learning (Sharjah)

This workshop is aimed at schools of all curriculum types who only use one or two of GL’s assessments.

This workshop will offer valuable guidance to educators using assessments from GL Education. It will provide a clearer view of how schools can implement a comprehensive assessment strategy and a data-driven framework to support development across the entire school. Additionally, it will address the needs of every student using data from CAT4, the PT Series, and NGRT

By triangulating data from these assessments, schools gain a powerful understanding of student learning and potential.

Key points covered will include:

  • Whole student view: Understand how combining data from different assessments provides a full picture of student ability, attainment, and potential.
  • Targeted interventions: Learn how to use data to implement precise interventions tailored to each student's needs.
  • Identifying literacy needs: Master the use of data to pinpoint and address all students' literacy requirements and follow this up with effective reading practice.

The workshop will discuss the strategic use of CAT4, PT Series, and NGRT.  CAT4 measures underlying cognitive abilities, Progress Tests evaluate core subject attainment, and NGRT offers detailed diagnostics on reading and comprehension skills, complementing the insights from CAT4 and Progress Tests.

Additionally, the session will explore how these assessments can be integrated with reading practice tools like myON and Accelerated Reader to support all students effectively. For those who are already Renaissance customers, there is an additional training workshop taking place on the same day in the afternoon on Star Reading, Accelerated Reader, and myON.
