The African Future Learning Summit

The education landscape in Africa has changed beyond measure and technology has never been as vital as it is right now.

CENTURY and GL Education present The African Future Learning Summit, in partnership with the Department of International Trade and CIS Lagos. In this three hour seminar, we bring together educators from across the continent to discuss key matters in a range of keynote and panel sessions.

The event will run from 09:00 to 12:00 BST.


  • 9:00-9:05: Welcome and Introduction
  • 9:05-9:15: Opening address by Emma Wade-Smith OBE, DIT Africa - Her Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Africa
  • 09:15-09:35: Keynote presentation by Priya Lakhani OBE, CEO Founder, CENTURY
  • 09:35-10:25: Panel “Harnessing adaptive technology to future proof our learners”
  • 10:40-11:00: Keynote presentation by Amanda Clarke, International Director, GL Education
  • 11:00-11:50: Panel “Making an impact with data: understanding ability, tracking attainment and uncovering hidden barriers to learning”
  • 11:50-12:00: Dr Adam England, Principal of CIS, Lagos, Nigeria

Her Majesty's Trade Commissioner for Africa

Emma Wade-Smith is the first ever Her Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Africa, representing the UK Government’s Department for International Trade. Emma has had a distinguished career as a British Diplomat spanning more than two decades.

Priya Lakhani OBE

Barrister and entrepreneur, Priya founded CENTURY in 2013 after being struck by underachievement rates in schools. A frequent keynote speaker and media commentator, Priya is also a co-founder of The Institute for Ethical AI in Education.
