Understanding how to effectively use PT data at all levels

Objective

The aim of this training is to support teachers and senior leaders in understanding how they can use the data provided by the Progress Test Series of assessments to meaningfully impact teaching and learning in their school. Key learning outcomes will be that delegates understand how to:

  • Identify the learning support needs of individual students and groups
  • Ensure all students are on track to reach their full potential
  • Create practical action plans to implement within school.

Beginners and advanced sessions

The first module, is for delegates from schools that are new to using the PT Series or individuals who have not had access to the full reports. The second module provides a more detailed review of the data and explores strategies for triangulating with other data points to provide a more holistic view of students’ needs. Delegates have the option to sign up for the module that best suits their needs.

The session will support delegates to obtain actionable insights from their own data. Delegates should come along with their own school data for this session.

Expectations & learning outcomes

Our goal is to support schools in understanding and utilising their data to make meaningful impact in the school. The training will be interactive, allowing delegates to carry out hands on exercises so that they develop the skills and confidence to effectively analyse their own data.

Key learning outcomes for both sessions are to help delegates to:

  • Identify the learning support needs of individual students and groups
  • Create action plans for moving forward
  • Identify learning gaps and areas of the curriculum that need reinforcing
  • Ensure all students are on track to reach their full potential
  • Create practical action plans to implement within school.

Delegates will develop an understanding of the benefits of having external benchmarking data and how this information can be used in conjunction with other data points and their own student observations to ensure students achieve their full potential.

The sessions will be delivered over two days, with both modules being offered on each day.
