Impact of Covid-19 on attainment: analysis three years on

Published

We have analysed the results from the Progress Test Series – covering English, maths and science – taken in 2022 and compared them with the results from 2019, 2020 and 2021. See how your school’s data compares by reading our new report.

Key findings include:

  • International schools have maintained the return to pre-pandemic levels across all subjects, with less than 1 SAS point difference across all subjects.
  • Generally, schools saw further (though much more modest) returns to pre-pandemic levels of attainment in English and science, while performance in maths overall remained in line with 2021.
  • While the range of school mean scores has narrowed, there are still a greater number of schools whose scores are below those achieved pre-pandemic.
