Webinar 1: Giving students ownership of their own learning

Data-informed discussions are a powerful tool in encouraging students to take ownership of their own learning. By recognising strengths and areas requiring development, students are better equipped to evaluate their progress, reflect on their learning, and set and attain challenging learning goals.

In this webinar, we look at how data from the Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT4) can support these conversations including:

  • Measuring cognitive strengths
  • Identifying areas for development
  • Looking at learner profiles and how students like to think
  • Discussing likely outcomes for key exams

Speakers:

  • Bernard Fawcett - International Consultant, GL Education
  • Priyamvada Taneja – Founder, Priyamvada Taneja Consulting

Webinar 2: Student wellbeing: Measurement and interventions

  • Can we measure wellbeing?
  • What can the data tell us?
  • Digging deeper
  • Practical interventions ready to use

Following the disruption of the last year, student wellbeing is at the front of school leaders’ thoughts. Anecdotally, some students have thrived while studying remotely, while others will have missed the immediacy of support from teachers and may have lost confidence as a result.

The Pupil Attitudes to Self and School (PASS) wellbeing measure removes the guesswork - focusing on three broad areas – how a student feels about themselves, their engagement with the curriculum, and their feelings about school. New interventions, designed specifically to address the challenge of a prolonged absence from school, will help teachers to identify the right approach to support affected students.

In this webinar, we discuss how schools can use this data to identify students at risk, and how to put a structured well-being programme in place to evaluate the impact of subsequent interventions.

Speakers:

  • Bernard Fawcett - International Consultant, GL Education
  • Priyamvada Taneja – Founder, Priyamvada Taneja Consulting

Webinar 3: Data informed student mentoring

In this webinar, we discuss how schools can use a variety of data to identify gaps between student aptitude and attainment and investigate the causes.

Topics covered are:

  • Beginning conversations
  • Identifying attitudinal barriers and devising interventions
  • Developing trust and a deeper relationship with mentees
  • Setting real and quantifiable targets for students to help overcome their barriers and achieve their target grades

Watch the recording to find out more about how a mentoring structure can be put in place and learn from our expert’s previous experience.

Speakers:

  • Veer Shah - Senior International Consultant, GL Education
  • Priyamvada Taneja – Founder, Priyamvada Taneja Consulting
