GL Education has won the prestigious Exporter of the Year Award at the Bett Awards 2018. The trophy was collected by Chief Executive, Greg Watson, International Partnerships Director, Jim Kell, and International Director, James Neill, during a ceremony held at Tobacco Dock in London last night.
The award recognises GL Education’s growing global footprint after it secured a series of strategic partnerships over the last year. These include a 10-year strategic partnership agreement with Nelson, Canada’s leading educational publisher; a 10-year strategic partnership with SAYEGH, one of the most established and largest educational publishers in the Arab world; and a three year partnership agreement with Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), which will see diagnostic and benchmarking assessments being used to support teaching and learning in a selection of Maktab Rendah Sains MARA (MRSM) across Malaysia.
Greg Watson, Chief Executive of GL Education, said: “Educators around the world are increasingly seeing the value of using formative assessments to understand the whole child - their potential achievement, any barriers to learning they may have, and, of course, their strengths and successes. Schools in the UK and British international schools already use this kind of data really effectively and we’re excited to be developing assessments in different languages for teachers and children in other countries around the world.”
GL Education won the Bett ICT Exporter of the Year Award in 2016 for its work with international schools in over 100 countries worldwide, and was highly commended in 2017 for the development and trialling of a Mandarin version of its Cognitive Abilities Test with 15,000 students across China.
