Freckle student dashboards are designed to offer a personalised experience for every student. There are different versions tailored for Years 1–3, Years 4–6, and Years 7–13.
Each dashboard features an age-appropriate interface and content that’s adjusted to suit the needs and learning stages of students in that year group.
Adaptive Practice allows students to practise their maths skills across different topics. As they progress, Freckle continuously adjusts the difficulty to match each student’s level.
Targeted Practice works just like Adaptive Practice, except that you can choose the skills and objectives that you would like your students to focus on.

Yes! Students in all years can log in to Freckle by using a web browser on a mobile device -there is no Freckle ‘app’ that needs to be installed. The programme’s interface is responsive and will resize itself to fit any screen.
If you’re using Freckle alongside Star Maths - part of the broader Renaissance family of tools – you’ll have the added benefit of integration. Star Maths scores can automatically set students’ starting points in Freckle, placing them at the right level in each domain without the need for manual input.
Even if you’re not using Star Maths, schools using the New Group Maths Test (NGMT) can still place students accurately in Freckle based on their performance.
Freckle organises maths learning into domains such as ‘geometry’ and ‘number and place value’, with skills progressing in difficulty. Our assessments like Star Maths and NGMT help map a student’s overall maths attainment onto these domains using a single, consistent scaled score – giving you a clear, personalised path for every student.
